seeing as there was still some time before nightfall,  audric supposed he could spare some more time to socialize before he was put on night watch〝  if you wouldn't mind the company,  i'll take you up on that offer.  unless you prefer your own privacy,  which i wouldn't want to intrude on ＂

     there's little resistance as they shift him. the tips of his ears burn a warm pink, but he hardly seems uncomfortable. if anything, he slumps himself back against them,  head tilting back.  " it's nothing really. I'm happy to help. keeping everyone safe is my job, right? "  still, the front-liner's jaw goes slack with a yawn.  " not a minute later, though, okay?  "  he raises a finger to them,  the pad gently tapping once to their cheek.  " you know I can't sleep that long anyway. And besides, I hate cold fish more than anything!  "

     he can't help the soft smile that adorns his lips, and he settles more comfortably where he sits beside the dragon.   "  sounds like a good plan,  "  he sighs, content to simply stare off the docks until his eyes closed.  "  until i fall asleep, huh?  may be sooner than planned. today was so long..  "  

        he grins, reaching up a hand to pat the dragon on the back -- a rough effort to simply shake the sudden regret from the other.  " That's the spirit! "  he agrees before arms stretch lazily over his head.  " sure it'll do them some good! don't beat yourself up over a few words.  "
