Not what I usually post but theres a serious issue that needs to be addressed that’s happening right now. My country is currently undergoing a femicide. A woman is killed approximately every three hours in South Africa. There are 11-15 women killed per day. This is nearly five times more than the global average. There is currently a serial killer and the seventh body was found today. The police department has the audacity to say “avoid being murdered.” “Avoid encountering the murderer.” “Avoid unnecessary activities such as walking your dog or buying groceries.” I’m so fucking sick and tired of the WOMEN being ones to take precautions. How about avoid murdering people. Why is the police so adamant about women being cautious instead of preventing men from causing harm. This situation is making me sick. I’m physically sick. It’s disgusting and nothing is changing. I know majority of you do not reside in South Africa but it’s always good to be educated on what’s going on around the world. Your rights as a woman completely depend on your geographical luck. I hope majority of you are granted with more luck than what I’m currently getting. The world is fucked bro.

It’s absolutely awful that ‘protection’ is pausing women’s lives and forcing them to stop continuing with daily routines instead of holding people who commit such violent crimes accountable. They should really put their resources towards finding these people and creating safer spaces for women anyways. It’s absolutely disgusting that women aren’t even able to complete such acts as walking their dogs without feeling unsafe. Hopefully we can work towards a world that’s safer for women to just exist without men thinking they have the entitlement to deny women safety where they live. I know this isn’t what you usually post Emi but it’s amazing you’ve spoken up about it 💗
