Guys I can't believe denial hit 40K reads!!! I'm back from exchange now, but travelling with only my old tablet but I'll be writing on here as much as I can so I can upload a celebratory chapter! :D

Hey! Can you tell me what's the scope of learning latin?? I was actually thinking about going for it and search it up on google, but if you can give me some firsthand experience advice...?

@ifrit5789 I can't tell you how grateful I am that I asked, thank you so much for this great insight. Latin truly seems a great language to learn and I'm quite sure if not now then sometime in the future, I would definitely take a try at it as I would love the intellectual challenge, but I was actually thinking of learning a new language, not only for my ownself, but to also perhaps have some assistance in my career of law. Since I am sure that when I learn a language, it should not be only for myself, since I would like to learn it thoroughly with proper books and classes and everything, I cannot possibly choose to invest my parents' hard earned money in Latin when I know it cannot give the expected returns. I'm not saying that learning Latin is not worth the money, or time it requires. Nothing that can be learned is ever 'not worth it', especially a great language like Latin. Thanks once again. :)

@ifrit5789 Latin is like a cross-over of maths and a modern language. You get a new way to think about stuff, a new type of logic, while also gaining access to a bunch of information that gives insight into another culture (though it's dead as opposed to alive like the culture of modern languages). I suppose it is also helpful to learn romance languages. In general I'd say that learning Latin for "useful" isn't the way to go. Do it because it's a beautiful language with a very different structure and build than most "standard" languages people learn, because it will challenge you, or because it gives you access to things you wouldn't otherwise know about. If you need someone to prove to you something is "useful" before you put any effort in and you're not obligated to learn it, I'd generally say that you should find something that you actually care about, or can find the "use" of yourself.
