As much as I love hosting contests, I will not be hosting any more, at least for a while, maybe not at all ever again. I'm disappointed by the lack of willing participants and people who simply quit in the middle of the competition or disappear without a word.
I miss old Wattpad when people actually cared about things on the site. It's been slowly going downhill for quite awhile now. No one cares about anything but how many followers they can get or how popular they can be and it makes me sad that no one really cares about writing or reading or graphic design anymore.
This site was not meant to be Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, it's meant to be a place where writers can express themselves and readers can find works to read for free. The 'management team' of Wattpad seems to have forgotten what the site is supposed to be about. All they care about is pleasing their investors, which seems to be to the determent of the site and its users.
I'm just so sad to see a site I used to love so much end up a wasteland of apathy.
