Writing is one of the most amazing things that anyone can ever be a part of. I write to give myself strength. I write to be the characters that I am not. I write to explore all the things I'm afraid of. Write what disturbs you, what you fear, what you have not been willing to speak of. Be willing to be split open. You must learn to be three people at once: the writer, a reader, and the character. When we read, we start at the beginning and continue until we reach the end. When we write, we start in the middle and fight our way out. I write because I can't NOT write. If I have an idea circling in my brain and I can't get it out, it begins to poison my waking existence, until I'm unable to function in polite company or even hold a simple conversation.
