          before  the  relationship  between  jim  and  diane,  jim  was  exposed  to  agent  orange  during  the  vietnam  war  and  diane  needed  a  quick  cash  grab  with  the  opportunity  of  mkultra;  a  government  lab  experiment  offering  too  much  money  to  refuse.  both  of  these  had  a  effect  on  their  marriage,  leading  to  sara  hopper,  a  girl  born  with  electrakinesis  and  had  survived  cancer.  her  'death'  was  a  coverup  by  the  government  to  abduct  her,  to  track  and  study  her  gift  and  ability  to  control  the  electricity  and  currents  around  her.  of  course  though  after  her  escape,  how  could  jim  not  notice  her  blue  eyes  that  looked  too  much  like  his  own?  or  old  habits  that  may  not  have  died  within  sara  hopper?
