   *  he genuinely acts like an animal.  he'll bite you  ,  growl at you  ,  rub his head against you  ,  and even curl up in your lap.  he was literally raised as a dog alongside actual dogs  —  it's a learned behavior.
            
               *  his mind judges everything in   '  good  '   and   '  bad  '  ,  but only he himself is held to this standard.  if someone else makes a mistake  ,  it's fine.  to him  ,  it's only bad if he does it.
            
               *  despite the fact that he'll growl at anyone who gets close  ,  he doesn't genuinely like being alone
            
               *  he likes animals a lot.  he's the type to pick up a bug and move it instead of killing it.
            
               *  his training was heavily focused on close combat.  while he can fight from long distances  ,  it's definitely not his strong suit.  
            
               *  he's actually pretty easy to win over.  treat him like a human  ,  and after a few weeks of confusion  ,  he'll start to let his guard down around you.

jaime was   born   into the las almas cartel.  there was never a choice on whether he wished to be there or not.  he was kept only to be   used   by the cartel.  someone young  —  someone who seemed innocent.  he was the perfect tool to train.
            
            jaime is nothing more than a loyal dog to the cartel.  he's treated and acts like one.  he's animalistic  —  feral.  
            
            locked away when not on the field  ,  fed with scraps  ,  given human decency only when felt necessary.  punishments and rewards were the system he lived by.  if he did good on the field  ,  he'd be praised  —  maybe given a proper meal or the chance to sleep in a proper bed.  when he was bad  ,  every small luxury he has is taken away.  only   good   results warranted comfort.
            
            then he was caught and captured by los vaqueros.  unsure of what to do with him  ,  they started him on a form of rehabilitation.  he was a prisoner  ,  but one with the chance of becoming something more.
            
            still  ,  he claws and kicks and bites  —  because a bad dog gets only bad things  ,  and he's fearful of when they will come.
