I have been creating novels since the great romance boom, writing for Harlequin, Silhouette, Avalon and other publishers. I novelized the popular Road to Avonlea TV series for HarperCollins.

I’ve also taught high school English, worked as an ad copywriter and written for many nonprofit organizations. In fact my experiences as a copywriter caused me to create two fat reference books, the Marketing Phrase Book and the Fundraiser's Phrase Book, to help out with the blank page blues.

Oh, and I once rode a British Bedford truck across the Sahara and back to see Timbuctu.

Everything I do is fodder for fiction. I am drawn to action, romance, adventure and characters with a distinctly odd twist. My extensively researched historical novel, The Tomorrow Country, deals with the start of the child emigration movement in which over 100,000 destitute children were sent from Britain to Canada to find better lives. Or not.

After trying urban life in Europe and Toronto, I have returned to my rural roots on the family farm in Ontario where I grew up. Currently, I am digging into the rich, raucous history of my own Prince Edward County for my next work of fiction.
