SUNSWALLOWING
"I don't drink, thanks."
SUNSWALLOWING
@gmblersriot His eyes flickered to her now. So far he had ignored her completely, gaze fixed on the woman at the pool table that through laughter carried the whole game on her pinky finger. His eyes dropped to where she decided to sit, and he moved back slightly to make space between them. "Because she's a suspect." He replied simply, and spared the woman one more glance before lookng at her. "You seem fond of her. Why."

[ @SUNSWALLOWING ] “ at all ? that’s interesting ” she said simply as she took the drink back placing it behind the bar. her cold gaze was almost appraising him as she studied his expression “ well since we seem to be skipping the formalities … care to explain why you’ve been staking out one my clients for the better part of an hour ? ” she asked calmly as she took a seat , not really waiting for an invitation.

* alyssa would of responded if she wasn’t so distracted by evangeline snatching the drink from her grip * you may be into that degrading shit, but i’m not. i gave her plenty of chances to shut the fuck up and she decided not to take them. bimbo should count herself lucky that i didn’t break her fingers. * the pats to her head only angered her more as she swat eva’s hand away * i am behaving, now can i have my drink back, mother?

[ @shieldsagent- ] “ mhm … and when you can say that coherently i’ll believe you ” she mused taking the cocktail out of the brunette’s hand deciding that she was cut off , she hadn’t even seen her order the drink. “ i’m aware /but/ i am fully capable of defending myself …. plus i’ve been called a lot worse ” she mused reaching out and patting lyssa’s head finding her antics silly more than anything else. “ i thought you said you were going to be well behaved if i let you come with me ? ” she said raising an eyebrow

what? no! i’m not even tipsy, i’ve got a slight buzz sure, but not tipsy. * she reassured, the slightest of slurs in her speech proving otherwise. it didn’t click until a few moments later what eva had fully said * i didn’t pick a fight either. SHE came over here looking at you all dirty and making shitty remarks. someone had to put the bimbo in place.

“ Oh — my bad ! Didn’t even see you there , ” he laughed awkwardly , rubbing the back of his neck. “ I was just checking this place out , dude . . . this casino’s seriously wild. But hey , it’s my first time in one , so I’m kinda just taking it all in right now— ”

[@gmblersriot] “ Awh man , you gotta loosen up a little. You can’t spend your whole life being no fun , ” he chuckled , lightly shaking his head. “ There’s nothing wrong with showing off every now and then. ” Funny enough , those words were coming from someone who had shut himself away from the world after spending a year trapped in war. That was two years ago now , though , and little by little he’d learned how to be himself again — even if part of him was gone. Literally. Combat had taken his arm and both his legs , replacing them with metal instead. Still , he’d gotten used to it by now; it barely bothered him anymore. “ You don’t even play the games ? Damn , that’s kinda tragic , ” he added with a shrug , exhaling softly through his nose. “ Though I can’t really blame you. Heard those things can get seriously addicting. ” His shoulders lifted slightly. “ Guess you could say that , yeah. A couple drinks would probably do me good right about now. ”

[ @sieg_zeon ] “ hm yes.. i’m alright , just not very emotive ” she said casually. she had always been like this , most people couldn’t really tell what she was thinking or feeling and she honestly preferred it that way. “ well seeing as i own the place , i don’t really come here for fun ” she said with a slight shrug , her cold gaze scanning the perimeter. her arms were crossed , a single finger tapping against her forearm “ what brings you here ? looking to blow off some steam ? ”

[@gmblersriot] Zeke raised a brow slightly at her dull response , letting out a quiet hum beneath his breath. She didn’t exactly strike him as the cheerful type — there was a certain heaviness in the air around her that felt off somehow. Not dangerous , just . . . wrong. When he reached out with his telepathy to get a read on her thoughts , he found nothing but silence , which only unsettled him more. “ You alright ? ” he asked gently , slipping his hands into his pockets. Most people usually responded well to his upbeat attitude , but even so , he kept an easy smile on his face. “ You seem wiped out . . . not much fun , huh ? ”

" so ? do i actually pull this off , or do i look ridiculous ? "
gmblersriot
[ @bloodshed ] “ I’ve been told i have ocd like tendencies ” she hummed , she physically couldn’t stand an untidy place so it was a no brainer. everything in her home had a specific place and was always perfectly ordered. she didn’t do mess or clutter and this room was no exception. she would be able to have peace of mind if she had left it the way her brother did. “ well look through , pick something and i’ll pin the trousers for you ” she said with a hum because basic tailoring like that was a life skill she had taught herself “ it’ll take an hour at most ”

[ Stepping past her into the quiet space, Lucian's gaze lingered on the perfectly aligned trousers and cuffs. A quiet, cynical thought crossed his mind. The subtle jabs she had picked up on weren't born of a deep, burning hatred. He didn't have the energy to waste on hating her brother. It was simpler than that: they were a disastrous match. Put them in a room together, and the air turned to glass. They didn't enjoy each other's company, and every joint operation became a battle of wills. In the end, walking away from the team wasn't a surrender; it was a cold calculation. Breaking the alliance was far better than allowing the friction to inevitably break them. His fingers lightly brushed against the razor-sharp crease of a pressed lapel, a genuine glimmer of approval breaking through his otherwise unreadable features. He turned his head to look back at her, a faint, rare trace of amusement softening the edge of his voice. ] " You did all this ? I have to admit, I'm impressed. It takes a serious amount of patience to bring this much discipline to a chaotic bastard's wardrobe. "

[ @bloodshed ] maybe she should’ve inquired , pried further about what kind of issues he had with her brother but she just had interest in that. prior to this moment she didn’t even know that they knew each other. but by the subtle jabs she kept hearing from him she assumed it was nothing good. she walked down the hallway towards the guest room on the same floor , walking further in and opening the door to a walk in closet. there were perfectly organised rows of tailored suits , formal trousers , pressed shirts , ties , and cuffs. anything he could need really. obviously she had been the one to organise it all , her brother never would’ve even have the thought to keep anything this tidy.

THE SMELL OF COTTON CANDY fills the small office of the manager, overtaking every space and room rather quickly. A large puddle that had red and white swirls began to form on the floor from seemingly nowhere and grew to the size of a medium-sized sinkhole before finally halting.
There was a mechanical whirring, and slowly HE emerged from the puddle as if it were a hole rather than liquid.
First rose a sleek tophat atop a ginger head, then came the grinning pale face with green eyes. He had broad shoulders, an athletic, muscular build, a red-and-black suit jacket with a faded white button-up shirt underneath, black slacks, and black dress shoes that curled upward cartoonishly at the front.
With a large, exaggerated step forward, he stepped fully out of the puddle, which, upon leaving, caused it to evaporate into nothing as if he had never even stood there.
"Hello, hello," he greets enthusiastically, his grin far too wide for human standards and showing far too many teeth that shouldn't be as white as they were. "Apologies, ma'am, but I have heard the most lovely things about you and this establishment!" His entire demeanor was like a cartoon caricature of a clown or entertainer, his voice even having that uppity, giddy quality that would be normal in a cartoon.

⠀⠀⠀ they’d met before, way back when aden was still killing for money. not that he had ever needed the said money, but he believed it to be his one and only purpose in life. why not get paid for it, right? well, as it turns out that, a few years off the grid entirely can make one’s views change. he found comfort in the silence, but he loved filling it with a melody. he had become someone so different than what he once was, but now, standing in front of this fiery-haired woman, he was beginning to think that he could never truly escape that life.
⠀⠀⠀ “now, i’m going to go out a limb here and say that you’re not here for the music. am i right?”

[ @bIoodthirsts ] “ i mean more your general demeanour and….hobbies ” she said her voice a low deceptive murmur. she still wasn’t sure what to make of his new career. it didn’t bother her , after all it was his life why would it bother her ? but she didn’t understand it. his previous career made sense , it was innate to him in a way that she didn’t think this shift was. she took a drag of her cigarette letting the smoke fill her lungs , a soothing sensation as she exhaled. “ if you’ve going to be flattered regardless i guess you should be flattered that people are still talking about you… my curiosity is my job. nothing to find flattering ” she said with a slight shrug. “ so what caused your sudden…. moral shift ? ” she asked dryly.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ “if you mean the house that i’ve lived in since before i ‘retired,’ then i suppose so.” his voice came out even, his eyes narrowing at the cigarette in her mouth. he can’t blame her, not when was a smoker, too. he crosses his arms over his chest and settles his left shoulder into the nearest corner, the pressure grounding which is exactly what he needs in the moment. “for the record, since i assume you’re going to actually ask at some point: i still do it, just not for the money.” he shifts his weight so the pressure is more than just surface level, his lips pressing tighter together. “is that what you came here for, to see if i really did change?” he tilts his head in a way that mirrored her own, an eyebrow raising. “should i be flattered to know that i still have people talking about me, or flattered that you were so intrigued to come find out for yourself? either way, i’m going to be flattered—just want to know which one takes priority.”

[ @bIoodthirsts ] “ glad to see you’ve still got your common sense ” the ginger haired woman said , her deadpan voice level as she glanced around the environment. she wasn’t sure exactly what she had been expecting but it wasn’t this “ i see retirement is serving you well… ” she mused as she reached into her pocket taking out a cigarette and a lighter “ hope you don’t mind ” she said with a tilt of her head as she lit it , not that it would’ve stopped her if he did protest. it was simply a formality to ask. “ i guess the rumours were right about how much you’ve changed ” she said almost scrutinising him with her gaze as she gave the man a once over , smoke curling around her ask she spoke. the man she knew wasn’t like this , harsh edges had been softened , demeanour tempered. someone born for blood now making music ? it was a shame honestly.
