Guys, I’m sorry for the Feathers scare.
I honestly wasn’t even going to explain this. I was just going to stay quiet, finish the book, put it back up, and let you guys think Wattpad took it down or something, but I’m also too weak to leave without saying anything. After posting the last chapter, I started questioning everything. I feel like some readers didn’t like the direction, or maybe expected the book to stay mostly ballet academy. I know a lot of you didn’t get to read it last night, and honestly, I think it would’ve made your jaws drop because I finally wrote Lovina’s past. Now I’m wondering if I should keep going with the plot I planned, or refix a lot of chapters to make Feathers just a ballet academy romance without the thriller/drama side.
The thing is, I did foreshadow Lovina’s past. I didn’t say it directly because I wanted the reveal to actually feel like a reveal, but the signs were there. Feathers was never meant to be just a typical cliche romance. I’m tired of those tropes. I like different, messy, darker stories, but now I’m realizing not everyone likes different, and it’s making me overthink. I know there are silent readers who might be enjoying the book, but if they don’t let me know, I’m not going to know that they are. Usually the loudest readers are the ones with the strongest opinions, and those are the ones that make me rethink my whole story. A lot of writers on this app drop their books, never finish them, and disappear. That’s not what I’m doing. I will finish Feathers, but if I leave it up while I’m doubting every decision, I probably won’t finish it. So give me a few days. I’ll publish it again soon. If you guys want to yell at me and tell me to stop overthinking and continue the actual plot I planned, feel free. Feathers is not discontinued. I promise.
