one of my absolute favorites is Lost Voices. i believe it’s a trilogy but I’m not certain
            
            Then, a book that I read a few years ago, is the Waterfire saga, the first book being Deep Blue. 
            
            Uglies, Pretties, + whatever the third books title is 
            
            Legend, Prodigy, + Champion - a wonderful fantasy trilogy that left me in tears
            
            Red Queen- another of my absolute favorites, also a series.
