i may be getting a cat for my cat! her name is thyme and she is a long-furred russian blue that is estimated to be 8-10 weeks old.
          
          does anyone have any tips on slowly introducing two cats? my current cat, prada, is about a year old. she has a lot of energy and constantly grooms me (and is clingy), so i think getting her a friend would do justice :)

@heolyheather — scent swapping, (putting their beds in each others areas), allowing them to explore the others area (eg: new cat exploring the house while the current cat is locked in another room new cat hasn’t got access to), visual contact ,
            
            crates can also work, put one in the corner of the room and cover it partially with a blanket to allow it to feel safe and be able to go out of sight. allow for the other cat to roam the room while the new cat is in the crate,

class was canceled today because someone shot two cops during a search warrant and then barricaded themself into their house (which is on campus). he started at 8pm. it’s almost 2pm and they are still in there with swat and helicopters and stuff.
