Alex Candy (on a lil hiatus, sorry)

Hello to all who have been patiently awaiting my return as a writer. 
          That is, assuming that someone has been out there awaiting my return.
          I have been away for awhile, unfortunately with no inspiration to continue my stories.
          While I genuinely believe Spiraled Notebooks could be a success, it will continue to be on hiatus until further notice.
          With Cliché, this is a different story. 
          After much thought, I have come to the conclusion that while it’s not horrible, the plot isn’t the best. As I have advanced through life and grown a little bit more as a person for the last few months, I have come to believe that is is frankly a little unbelievable. I mean, when on earth would the plot of this story ever be heard of in real life?
          Therefore, I have decided not to scrap Cliché, but to rewrite it.
          Everything except for chapter one will be deleted and rewritten. While the characters themselves will stay the same, their backgrounds, stories, and even aspects of their personalities will be changed in order for readers to relate to them more. 
          Any and all awards I have received up to this point for Cliché will, in my mind, also be erased. I am aware that this story is still, as of this moment, in contention for some awards, and so as not to disturb the judging process, I will not delete or alter the chapters I have written until all the awards this book is registered in have finished. 
          For those of you who follow my work and who read my stories, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and commend your patience. 
          I promise when you see me again, everything will be different and better than ever.

Gonna get straight to the point bc if I don’t yall are gonna lose interest BUT! For you fellow members of 5SOS Fam - I’m PRETTY SURE something’s coming on the 23rd. I was browsing iTunes earlier and accidentally (key word! I don’t even like this show, so this was a miracle) stumbled upon the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack for the third season. It’s coming out on the 23rd of this month. Guess who Track 1 is by? 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER. And as of right now, their song on the soundtrack still only going by the name of “Track 1”. Which means, it’s A NEW SONG. COMING OUT. ON THE 23RD. OK? OK.

I apologize for once again going AWOL. I’m in the process of moving. Also have had some parties to attend. And a convention to prepare for. 
          I’m in the process of writing the following chapters for both of my stories, but it’s coming a bit slow, and for that I also apologize. 
          How’re y’all??

Ok so I completely shredded my vocal chords / throat by repeatedly singing Blind by PrettyMuch at full vol. 
          Anyone got suggestions on how to ease a ridiculously sore throat??

First of all, my apologies for those of you who did actually realize that I went AWOL and were wondering where I was. I’m back now, thank you very much. 
          Secondly, my short story, Unfair, won second place in The Sass Awards!! So, congrats to me, I suppose :)
          Thirdly, have you ever cried for a character in a book? Even though they were only lines in a story that were labeled with a name?

Why must boy band members play with my feelings so much?? 
          One day, Joel Pimentel has my whole heart. 
          The next day, Chance Perez has it. 
          The day after, Nick Mara has snatched it. 
          Heck, the following day, Chris Vélez has stolen it. 
          And not to mention Brandon Arreaga. Brandon Michael Lee Arreaga can just take my heart any freaking day of the week.

Teen stick-shift driver experience no. 28 : 
          This morning I took a lil drive in my lovely stick-shift VW to get milk. Got to the store without incident, of course, and got the milk.
          Now. Lemme get something straight. My driving is unparalleled. I know people who have had their licenses for an infinity longer than I have who still have no idea how the frick to drive. Mind you, that’s in automatic. I’m a teen driver in stick, and I am already the best driver I know (other than one other person). If you’ve ever been in a car with me, you’ll know that I drive smoother than glass and safer most people’s grandmothers. 
          The return trip from the store is about the only exception. 
          I didn’t get into an accident, but I got mind-blowingly close. 
          I was driving down my town’s main road, and I needed to upshift from 3rd gear into 4th gear. In order to do that in stick, you hem down the clutch and pull the lever straight down. I’m usually veryy good about my gear switches, but this particular morning, I messed up. 
          Instead of upshifting into 4th, I downshifted into 2nd. (2nd and 4th are right next to each other on the level grid.) If I had been going maybe 10 mph faster, I could’ve blown my engine.
          But that wasn’t where my mistakes ended. 
          When I realized I had gone into 2nd instead, I immediately tried again to upshift into 4th. However, when I performed the upshift, my foot wasn’t on the clutch.
          I’ll say that again. I performed the upshift without engaging the clutch. 
          You can, technically, shift gears without using the clutch, but you have to be *extremely* skilled to be able to do so. You have to be in tune with the gears on an almost spiritual level. Even though I’m a skilled driver, I’m not that skilled.
          If I had tried to upshift even a fraction of a second later than I did, my gears would’ve grinder so bad that it very well could’ve ruined my entire transmission. Ruined. It. 
          So yeah. I narrowly avoided a catastrophic accident today.
