sad headcanon hours : toxic masculinity causes him to be very private about his mental health and lgbt things . in his mind : his gender crisis is god testing him and he has to not give into it . god is punishing him for his relationship with steve all those years ago .
he never had time to think about himself because he was always busy with the war . now that the war is over : his mind is finally shining light on all the things he’s been bottling up .
