Hey, there! Thank you for your vote and comment on my story so far! I wanted to give my main protagonist, Kida Aster, a reason to feel like she doesn’t belong inside her family, and not-so-encouraging parents seemed like a way to go. I mean, they’re trying to be realistic when it comes to Kida and her dreams of being a writer, and Kida doesn’t realize that the world is a big competition in the literary world, since she’s so young. She dreams of being a writer, but her parents had been forced to give up their own dreams when they were younger children, and they had to settle really hard after being forced to give up their own dreams in order to please their own parents. So they try their best to gently explain to a young Kida that the world just doesn’t do well on childish dreams like writing stories for a living. But thankfully, Kida disregards her parents’ advice to give up on her dreams of being a writer and works hard to make her dream of being a writer a reality. But she couldn’t tell anyone about her talent of writing because of her private fears that she would get ousted for her simple dream of writing novels for a career. Not even her best friends know how good a writer Kida really is.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of the story!
