Daniel O'Grady is a classically French-trained chef and graduate of a culinary program in Florida, where he still lives today. He spent over a decade as an Executive Chef and Culinary Director, leading kitchens in country clubs and high-end senior living communities. He came up through the ranks the traditional way-through heat, hierarchy, and a relentless commitment to the craft.
After stepping away from the culinary world, Daniel turned to writing to unpack the complexities of that life. His fiction explores the quiet brutality of kitchen culture: the discipline, the dysfunction, the dark humor, and the lingering trauma that so often simmers beneath the surface.
He lives in Florida with his husband of fifteen years (now recently married), their son, and a lively mix of three dogs and three cats. Slow Render is his debut novel and a tribute-of sorts-to the kitchens that shaped him, tested him, and never really let him go.
