My Aching Solace is absolutely disgusting. The book romanticizes abuse and murder. The whole plot is repetitive: the protagonist gets hurt (emotionally or physically), the abusive boyfriend comes and saves the day to fuel love for him saving her, and then she romanticizes manipulation and ownership. I originally liked the enemies to lovers trope, but then later in the chapters Rhys is just making Liliana believe that she needs him and she can’t be independent. He constantly invalidates her privacy or strength to do things on her own, and the whole murder aspect is just so weird. Why does Rhys suddenly have a gun? This is not a mafia story they’re literally in college. If you’re a feminist and denounce abusive relationships, please do not read this story.

“SPOILER”Hi, I totally respect your opinion and can understand where you are coming from! I just wanted to ask whether you have read after chapter 39? There is a big plot twist that makes the story turn around a little bit. All that happened beforehand was happening in Liliana’s head and she was romantizing Rhys as the perfect guy, but it was never true. It’s like when you are reading a book and are making an entire story up in your head while romanticising things that you shouldn’t, and the second you stop reading reality comes crashing back down. You come back to reality and realize that all the things that you were making up in your mind were wrong.
But then there is always a personal preference, I like my mmcs more possessive, “dark romance” in the sense and I understand that it’s not for everyone. Either way I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and opinion ❤️

Hellooooo how are youuu??? Im in LOVE with "Their Shattered Angel" ive read it over 6 times. Ik its a lot and I think im starting to litteraly memorise it. Your stroy helped me escape reality and live a whole other life. Magnolia was my comfort character. Actually she still is. Im just writing this to thank you for this AMAZING FABULOUS EXTRAORDINARY FANTASTIC ,ive run out of adjectives, STORY. it actually helped me escape my shotty life. Well atleast its not as shitty as magnolia's life was at the start and this story gave me hope that ill get my happy ending. Sorry for the rant btw. Anyways thank you. Btw English isnt my first language so excuse any mistakes.

I started writing years ago as an escape and hoped that it would simultaneously make other lives better even for a short while. Life can get shitty, trust me I KNOW. Books and characters like Magnolia and the Knight family have been my only comfort when I had no one else to turn to. And I am so glad they bring you the same peace that they gave me.
