You might say I'm a lazy writer. I always had tons of ideas, but would seldom take the time to write. This has changed lately. After going back to college, I have written a few complete stories and essays as required by my classes.
Recently, I have started a novel, the storyline of which has been in my head for almost 20 years. The reason for my newfound desire to put my ideas on paper?
I learned many new things about the writing process recently, and this has made a huge difference. But most importantly, I am now writing for myself and not with anyone else in mind. Even if no one ever reads my work, I will enjoy writing it and feel a sense of accomplishment.
I love fantasy, especially when it contains unique elements, not just the elves, dwarves, and dragons.
My favorite book is The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub and I love many other books by King (The Stand, Insomnia, the Dark Tower series). H. P. Lovecraft is also a favorite. Other authors I like are Neil Gaiman, Garth Nix, Raymond Feist, James Stoddard, and Felix Gilman.
