A modern day miracle, public speaker, advocate, care counselor, as well as credited broadcaster and musician. I was diagnosed with HIV at age 3, and am among a handful of the oldest survivors in the nation living with the disease for over 36 years. Also co-infected with Hepatitis C, I've lived over 32 years with the liver disease after being cured with the new drug Sovaldi in 2014. Today, my largest hurdle is chronic pain from joint damage with permanent injuries to both knees, both elbows and ankles. I may not be an athlete, or hold records in sports, but my strength resides in one truly miraculous testimony. Today, I carry the torch for those who've passed on from the Hemophiliac AIDS crisis of the 1980's and 90's, as well as educate schools, facilitate discussions with local organizations and groups on HIV, Hepatitis C and Hemophilia. I'm reminded with each day comes new potential, and strive to thrive spiritually among physical pain.
