For as long as I can remember I've loved books and reading. The first story I ever wrote was for school when I was seven. It was about a girl lost in the woods who found an abandoned castle to live in and befriended a talking rabbit. From memory, the rabbit only started talking about halfway through when the story called for something to be explained. I recall being extremely proud for having used a word like "potpourri" (it was one of those nice-smelling castles.....you know the ones.)

I wrote a lot after that, never believing my stories were any good but secretly hoping they were amazing. I wrote all the way up until high school where my favourite teacher told me I was a factual writer, not a creative one. I'm not going to lie-it totally crushed my spirit.

It took years before I started writing out any new ideas, but I still never had the confidence to actually flesh them out to full stories. I have countless notebooks with plot lines, character profiles etc that have never seen the light of day.

It's only now since I've discovered the awesome new avenues and opportunities available to little fledgling writers, and with encouragement from my two wonderful sisters, that I finally dare to share....

If even one person (not related to me) finds some enjoyment from reading something I've written, I believe my spirit will finally be restored :)
