What if...
In after it continues to go downhill with Harry's behavior.
The last chapter of After, Harry kills Tess.

Then, the epilogue explains it all.
Harry fell into a coma at a young age after being beat by his father. The whole thing was his dreams in his coma and representations of what he thought and hoped his life would be after he wakes up. He dreams about being an awful person, because he knows thats what happens to messed up kids like him. He dreams of hating his father, but secretly being happy for him finding the right lady.
And of course, he dreams of Tess. Of finding a girl who hates him, but loves him at the same time. Who comes back for him, because they love each other.
He dreams of the nightmares to come when he's past being ten, and finding true love.

Now, as harry's behavior is becoming erratic, he is stirring.
The end of the many year long coma is coming to an end. And his dreams know that, too.

When he wakes up, he is now not a little boy anymore. When he sees Tessa in real life, he kills her, so surprised to see the girl of his dreams and so confused between reality and the life he was living while he was asleep.

          After he wakes up

@dreamingthought you deserve it! I cant believe more people havent read it.

It's sad how some awful, cheesy books have over a million reads, but other, detailed, beautiful stories don't have the reads they deserve.

Aw! Thank you so much, Love. I don't know about writing being a career, but I'll definitely keep writing for people like you. All I can say is, thank you for letting me know you enjoyed my writing. It means a lot. While I may not be terribly popular, I kind of prefer it this way. It means when someone reads something that is so personal to me, I have a chance to communicate with people on a personal level about my writing.

@dreamingthought I really enjoyed it! I can't wait for the next book.

Thank you! I think you're the only one that I know of that has read the entire series! If you'd like a dedication on a certain chapter that's not already taken, its yours!
I'm SO HAPPY to see you read it all the way through. I'm a couple thousand words into the next story and have a few on the backburner, so you won't have too long to wait.
If you have ANY thoughts about the series, I'd love to know. you caught it right as I was finishing up Book One and deciding to move the first to 'stories' to the Echtrai collection.
