Hey! This is one of my first times writing, and I'm just having fun with it. I'm not sure if my little tips and tricks will help, but here's what works for me:
I try to match parts of my personality to the character I'm writing for—it makes it easier to know how they'd react to certain situations. Sometimes, I'll write multiple scenarios with different reactions to see which one best fits the character. Knowing the movie, show, etc., you're writing about also helps, because then you already know which scenes you definitely want to include-and which ones you can skip. If you ever get writer's block, asking your readers what they'd like to see can be a huge help!
