Hi there, Friends!

It's been around 2 years now since I last made an update on my trilogy #ShadowOfThePastTrilogy ∞ The Displaced, and I deeply apologize to you, my Readers, for leaving you hanging. I do have some good news for you, however: over the past 6 months or so, I have been making progress on this story.

So where are the updates, you ask?

Well, although I've been writing, and have in fact completed 3 chapters and am nearing the completion of a fourth, they are not the chapters to follow Chapter 123, which is the last update I made. No, these are the closing chapters, the actual ending of this book. And they are quite exciting – with more than one twist – if I may say so myself.

Tackling the ending, which I had a reasonable picture of in my mind, has helped me get on the writing wagon again, breaking that 'writer's block'. I'm hoping – no, intending – that the roll I'm on now as I complete the ending will keep me rolling over the hump that got me stuck and struggling on Chapter 124 in the first place, and keep me writing to fill the gap that takes the story to the climax chapters so I can finally complete this pet project of mine.

After which, I intend to do a full edit/revision of the trilogy. Of course, I am still active on the #Canaisis chronicles. Right now, Raven and I as @-NikaRave- have started working on the second chronicle, An Acorn Of Hope, not yet available on Wattpad, but may be beta-read on our Ream page (see our joint account for more info).

          	So... here's to 2025!
          	Happy New Year!
          	Sincerely, Annika

@kemorgan65 No problem! I understand people do that a lot so it's no big deal, haha. If you ever have any questions, please let me know! Thanks for the quick response!

@Ravendipity I think I'd probably followed you from some time before applying for the contest, and intended to unfollow to refollow to make it a recent notification. Seems like the second click to refollow must have been unsuccessful. Sorry about that.

Hi! I am judging your entry for the Sapphire Stories Awards and I noticed you haven't followed me yet. In order for me to start judging I need you to follow me.

Hey @kemorgan65! As you may know I am trying to write a Sci-fi story of my own and I have a prologue already up, but I am having trouble switching from the feel of the prologue to the feel I want my actual story to have. I want to go for a 1st person POV with my main character but cant quite start it, you know? Like I have what events I want to happen in the chap. and I know what I want the reader to feel, and I think I can portray that, Its just that I can't seem to get past that first barrier of starting. I was wondering if I can get some tips, or get an idea of how you wrote your trilogy? Its only if you have any spare time, but I could really use the help?

@AnderFerman I've been thinking this over and think I have something that'll work, thank you

@AnderFerman Something that makes the reader do a double-take is a good attention-grabber. Some quirky thought, dialogue or action, or even description.
Alternatively if you have some good action later in the chapter, you could Start in the middle of the action, then flashback to the actual beginning of the Chapter, to show how the MC got from there to the action.
            OR:
Write what you have for the chapter then come back to see what you can do to open it.
