            『  levi stood besides the door, staring at it as he spoke to her. he wasn’t going to leave her, he didn’t want to leave her. why would she hurt him? it confused him. did she want to hurt him? would she hurt him on accident if he stayed? what did she mean? his mind spiralled with thoughts as he slowly sat himself on the ground, pulling his knees to his chest as he stared continuously at the bottom of the door.  』  “ it’s going to be okay love .. relax .. “

“ .. please .. i don’t want to hurt you .. ”    ( she croaked out, unable to stop the tears that rolled down her cheeks. she sounded tired, and she could feel the self control leaving her mind, her canines sharpening and her eyes beginning to flash red, nails sharpening — and god was she thankful she was locked in her room, that she’d left the library closed, and that there was a door stopping them from interacting, keeping him away from her. a monster. )

            “ i — i can stand away from you .. if you like .. please just let me stay with you? “  『  levi was hugely concerned, and he really didn’t want to leave her on her own. something was very wrong, and he couldn’t understand what, or why she wanted him to leave.  』

            『  his heart swelled with happiness. everything about this moment was simply pure perfection. after a while, the blonde slowly parted their lips, his eyes opening slowly to look at her. he found her to be absolutely gorgeous, and nothing, and no-one, would ever change that.  』

( if her heart could beat, she wasn’t sure if it would stop or beat out of her chest — all she knew is that this felt perfect. absolutely perfect. and she wouldn’t trade that moment for the world. it would be one of her fondest memories, held dear to her heart until the end of her days. )

            『  his hands stayed on her face, his thumbs brushing lightly at her cheeks. he let out a quiet hum, slightly deepening the kiss. he didn’t want to let go, it felt nice. he felt an intense happiness, which was strange to him. it felt strange, but it was nice.  』

            『  his head tilted slightly, just watching her and staring softly into her eyes.  』  “ nopee ~ you’re beautiful — “

“ shh shh shhhhh — . ”    ( she shook her head, trying to hide the rising warmth in her cheeks. )

            『  his hands gently cupped her face and his hand gently caressed her cheeks. he gave her a warm smile, looking gently and happily into her eyes.  』  “ you have such beautiful eyes .. “

            『  he smiled brightly at this, he really did want to show her. he continued looking at her, just happily admiring her. he started running his fingers through her hair, looking at her hair.  』

“ okay curls, ”    ( she giggled, unable to peel her eyes from the certain blonde. her blonde. that’s who he was now, even if he wasn’t aware of it — he was too nice to be around, too comforting, to not be. )

            『  he stared at her, just stared. he leant into her hands and just continued gazing at her, admiring everything about her. he enjoyed that.  』  “ okay — you can see myy house first .. “

            『  he quickly nodded his head. he really did like dragons, sometimes.  』  “ they’re fun to watch — i wouldn’t want to own one though .. “

( she let out a soft gasp. )    “ a dragon.? dragons are cool — and pretty. they’re so interesting too. i like dragons. do you like dragons, curls.? ”

            『  his head tilted slightly as he thought to himself, his eyebrows furrowing.  』  “ umm — there’s the time my father actually went missing .. with my brother — and also when my mother woke up with a baby dragon in her favourite teacup — “

            『  levi quickly turned his attention back onto the girl, glancing down at the book before looking back towards her. he had studied that book a couple of times, he was rather familiar with it.  』  “ well — if you’re struggling, i could possibly help? i had that book for a looonnnggg time — i might be able to give you a little advice, if you want it —. “  『  he raised an eyebrow at her, his head tilted ever so slightly.  』

she nodded, although it was mostly to herself as she let out a small breath of relief. “okay.. if you say so.” she opened the book, flipping through the pages as she attempted to find the topic she was looking for. “hm?” she glanced up from the book. “it is? that’s good news for me.. i’ve been struggling with this topic since we started studying it.” she admitted, frowning.

            『  again, he gave her a small nod. he definitely didn’t need that book, he wouldn’t miss it if it was gone. he looked at her, giving her a warm smile.  』  “ i’m definitely sure, take it — it’s good if you’re unsure of something, i’ve read it before. “  『  he gestured his head towards the book and narrowed his eyes.  』

( less than twenty minutes later, the girl had fallen asleep engulfed in his scent and warmth, fully calm and relaxed. )

            『  he lightly kissed her head one last time, continuing to hold her close as he softly whispered:  』  “ goodnight love .. “

( she glanced up at him, eyes droopy before she closed them again, yawning again and muttering. )    “ aright, g’night .. sleep well .. ”
