I came across *Lights Out In Manhattan* earlier today, and I did not expect it to stay with me the way it did.
There is something about the way you wrote that first meeting in the bagel shop. It felt small on the surface, but underneath it carried tension that made it hard to forget. The line about one morning, one collision, one mistake really stayed in my mind because it sets the tone so clearly without saying too much.
What stood out to me most is how natural the dynamic between Lexi and Carter feels. He is not just cold, he feels controlled in a way that hints at something deeper. And Lexi has this quiet strength that shows even in uncomfortable moments. It made their interaction feel real, not forced.
At the same time, I noticed something that might be holding the story back a little. The emotional weight is there, but it is still sitting just beneath the surface. Moments that could linger a bit longer move on quickly, and I found myself wanting to sit inside those feelings more, especially in their first real confrontation.
That is why it feels like a story that has more depth than it is currently showing.
I just wanted to reach out and say that I genuinely see what you are building here. It has a strong foundation and a feeling that many stories try to reach but do not quite get.
