Call me Lucy. I am working on a book about a true event in my life. Parts are just observations, as I saw, felt or imagined things. Some actually happened. But the truth of drug addiction entering into the family is not uncommon. It is not an easy battle. It can be hidden for years. It can damage so many things. I have struggled to keep my boy alive. I thank God he is, but not without great consequence.
I believe it was Plato who said, "Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." We all have something going on, some battle to fight. If my words or the idea that you are not alone comforts you, I will have done something worthwhile.
If you write, don't ever stop. If you read, keep reading. If you dream, the doors will open.
