omg nothing makes me more uncomfortable than all the fucking ai images in the middle of a chapter i’m reading. like i try not to be judgy or a hater but like outside of the fact that the use of generative ai is legit killing black people and depleting the earth of resources, it feels like a worse invasion of privacy than the fact that im reading rpf. like am i better for reading and writing fanfiction about a real person…well the ethics of that can be debated but the jarringness of ai images is just so weird and an even more invasion of privacy , like soooo many fics ive deleted and never finished bc it honestly makes my stomach turn in a really gross way. if they’re at the beginning or end of the chapter then i can’t do my best to ignore it but when it constantly pops up in the middle ? just very gross tbh and i’d rather suspend my disbelief and imagine what i’m seeing than have ai generate it.

like i literally had a project where i HAD to use and there was no way around it, i tried and asked, and i felt sick to my stomach about it the entire time. and even then, i tried to find the most ethical one bc i REALLY don’t want to be part of the problem. it doesn’t help that im majoring in fashion and everybody thinks that my craft can be automated by a fucking computer because NOTHING can beat human creativity. like ugh hurts my heart tbh

@HarleyQuitt basically, the entire fic or at least most of it is told through social media usually instagram or twitter and there’s pictures included for the insta posts. text messages and actual chapters where they’re in person are also there. it’s usually done with celebrities or characters who would be famous in universe cause then there are fan interactions, articles etc. your obamala fic would be a perfect social media fic. imagine people speculating on barack and kamala at the premiere but it’s just normal ppl being nosy on twitter, maybe barack likes a tweet and everyone’s going crazy. it’s kinda hard to explain but it’s a type of fic that relies heavily on visuals
