I have been asked so many times, how to detect AI writing. Easy. Here are a few examples:
The chapters start with how something smells, feels or looks - in a very flowery language: The room smelled like garlic and broken promises...The sun lit the room as if it could warm her broken heart and erase yesterdays events. The silence was filled with the sound of his heart breaking and his insides crumbling. He treated women like wallpaper. The air felt heavy just like the responsibility he would have to take.
Then there are the (what I call) no, no yes sentences.
She did walk away defeated.
She did not walk away broken.
She walked away empowered.
Not angry.
Not sad.
But with her head held high.
Another good sign is, that every sentence is its own paragraph.
Rinse and repeat. AI really likes to do that. The story does not flow in a normal way. Sentences, empty platitudes, phrases...chapter after chapter rinse and repeat...she sits in the same room for three chapters, thinking the same thought with slightly different (flowery) wording...she runs away again and again....he stands outside in the rain for two chapters, doing absolutely nothing, thinking about his broken heart....12 chapters later nothing had really happened and after 70 chapters we finally have some story or character development.
Timeline and inconsistencies. AI seems to have a problem remembering... They get divorced but are still married 2 chapters later. They attended a party the night before but he suddenly had been with the mistress on that exact same night. They were arguing in the dining room but suddenly he slams the bedroom door although they were still standing at the dining table and never moved. She has the papers in the car but a few sentences later they are on her desk. She did deliver the letter and told her friends and two chapters later the letter was still with her.
