@melodyy_ross I don't know anyone who has ever let go. In my experience, grief is only ever integrated into the self. It changes you and you learn to accept that as part of who you are.
I've found that it can be helpful to read the testimonies of others going through similar pain. Heartbreak, unrequited love (limerence), death of a loved one, someone valuable moving away... as much as all of these experiences are devastating, they are survived by many people. It's important to remember that you can survive this loss.
Trauma frequently comes with physical symptoms and as strange as it might sound, you can mitigate the physical symptoms. Breathing and certain exercises allow the mind to function better. Stress is frequently a manifestation of trauma, so looking up stress management goes a long way.
Venting to friends can be valuable and you can shoot me an email if you'd like. I'm sorry I've been absent but, well, let's just say a lot of my poetry is triggering right now. I always get emails and I try to respond to those.
Best of luck finding better ways to cope.
