What poetry are you reading right now?

novelistASH

@melodyy_ross Pride and Prejudice continues to be my favorite love story. I've learned so much from Austin.

@ novelistASH i love pride and prejudice! piranesi is on my reading list actually, i heard a lot of good things about it. the bell jar was amazing except for the racism. i loved the writing style and the way she portrayed mental illness

i will try them out! i really love pablo neruda, his works are amazing, i started writing poetry because of him.

@novelistASH For fiction? It depends on the genre. I think *Pride and Prejudice* is fantastic if you haven't read that. *Piranesi* is also great but a little fantastical depending on your tastes. What do you think of *The Bell Jar*?

For poetry, I feel unqualifiedto make recommendations. I've been reading lyrical works. I'm always reading Robert Frost. Anne Sexton is a contemporary of Plath's and her work is raw and disturbing. I'm checking out Tess Gallagher right now and I like her. Maybe try out Edna St Vincent Millay.

heyy,

i might take a break for some time, 'cause frankly i can only write poetry when i am in love and (thankfully) my love for that person died.
maybe i will start writing stories soon, you can let me know what you would like to read <3

see you soon (if i come back)

have a beautiful evening (or whatever)

Heyy,

My beloved readers, I am dealing with some serious problems (well, let's say the issue is gone, but that is exactly the problem), and I just cannot let go even though I know it is horrible for me. How do you let go? How do you let go of the grief even though it is all you feel? How am I supposed to forget when I was supposed to love them in the future and now I am not allowed to?

          Have a nice evening <33

@melodyy_ross I don't know anyone who has ever let go. In my experience, grief is only ever integrated into the self. It changes you and you learn to accept that as part of who you are.

I've found that it can be helpful to read the testimonies of others going through similar pain. Heartbreak, unrequited love (limerence), death of a loved one, someone valuable moving away... as much as all of these experiences are devastating, they are survived by many people. It's important to remember that you can survive this loss.

Trauma frequently comes with physical symptoms and as strange as it might sound, you can mitigate the physical symptoms. Breathing and certain exercises allow the mind to function better. Stress is frequently a manifestation of trauma, so looking up stress management goes a long way.

Venting to friends can be valuable and you can shoot me an email if you'd like. I'm sorry I've been absent but, well, let's just say a lot of my poetry is triggering right now. I always get emails and I try to respond to those.

Best of luck finding better ways to cope.

What if the world you know isn’t as real as you think? Clarice is trapped in a life of silence, her scars hidden beneath the surface, each day feeling more like a lie. But when a mysterious figure with eyes like black flowers appears, everything she thought she knew about reality begins to fall apart. Under the Skin is a journey into the darkness of the mind, where the only way out is to face the truths you’ve buried deep inside. Are you ready to uncover what lies beneath? Dive in now—if you dare.
