For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to hear and tell stories. I took creative writing courses, started writing groups, initiated book clubs and wrote. My career in broadcasting nurtured my need to be creative and fostered my writing versatility. I started writing satire in 2013 because humor is my preferred medium and because I wanted to self-impose deadlines to hone my craft. After being laid off from a television job in 2015, I worked in banking for a year. The combination of feeling starved for a creative outlet and experiencing a workplace that felt like a sitcom compelled me to write Happy Path. What I assumed would be a collection of lighthearted observational essays became a humorous memoir. Writing the book took more honesty than I thought I had in me, but it was also great fun to relate my experience of being a creative working with an IT group in a fish-out-of-water tale. I hope to find an audience on Wattpad.
