hi everyone <3 i know i've been gone for almost a year and i miss you all so much. your kind messages and comments have been so so sweet. 
          
          i have a question for everyone. i know publishers and digital platforms (yes even wattpad) are overwhelmingly straight and white, and i know many of you are writers. i was wondering (IF i got funding to do it - it's a fellowship/award) whether you would be interested in me making a digital press (i want to call it 'the borderlands') for ONLY queer and poc writers to publish their work, like fiction, poetry, or even an academic essay from school.
          
          since so many of you are students too, it would give you an advantage for your resume/cv, considering the publishing industry is so so white and heteronormative. also since so many publishers and platforms are so large, it's hard to get noticed at all. when i first started on wattpad, i was getting like 5 views max on my stories LOL. BUT in a space that's specifically designed for you and lowk more "reputable," you'd get to brag about it when you apply for jobs and universities etc, which i know i would have wanted :) 
          
          TLDR; the publishing industry is so straight and white, and it's so much harder for queer/poc writers to get published or even noticed. do you want a digital platform for ONLY queer and poc writers? if you do, please let me know because your responses would help in getting the money to make this possible!

Honestly, this book is a must-read—it's absolutely phenomenal and deserves all the recognition it can get!
