          tbh I don’t care what anyone says I liked the ending. el was a good death choice (even though I love her sm) and it was a good wrap on her story cause there’s no way she could’ve lived regular lives with her friends in hawkins unfortunately
          
          lumax and joyce and hopper being the only two endgames makes me so happy you don’t understand. the lumax happy ending is the only thing I really cared about 
          
          steve got the ending her deserved my baby. so did nancy, robin and jonathan
          
          mike my child trying to cope with el’s death with that theory is so sad.
          
          will gets to leave hawkins and start a life free of all that bullshit which is really all that matters I don’t even care about byler
          
          dustin is finally happy and my boy was the valedictorian I’m so proud.

And not only Max got a happy ending either, so did Nancy, Robin, Holly, Joyce, Karen, etc. Like just bc it was a female character that died, didn't make it misogynistic. People were mad saying the Duffer Bros. treated El like an "obstacle", dehumanizing her, and that they knew she wasn't gonna stay in Hawkins and so the obstacle was figuring out how to keep her out of Hawkins. Like that's not dehumanizing her, that's just knowing narratively where you want your story to go and what themes you're presenting (El being a metaphor for what was essentially childhood whimsy) and then figuring out to realistically get from start to finish.

@moonyslantsov I've seen articles of people calling them misogynistic for killing her off and am like wtf?? Like they gave Max a happy ending. Yeah it sucks that El had a terrible life before she met her friends and the two sides of the ambiguous ending are either her having to leave or accepting that she died. But, it would've made ZERO sense to keep her in Hawkins or even on the run with Mike or something. Like if she was on the run with him, like Kali said, the government would never stop hunting her. And if you chose to believe that she's alive and in Iceland or something, like yeah, she had to leave her found family and she'll always have to be vigilant, but at least she has a chance to live. She never would've had that if she didn't die/fake her death. Just bc something didn't end the way you wanted it to, doesn't mean it was a bad ending. Comparing it to like Game of Thrones, Lost, etc is a little wild. My issues with the show and finale were not with everyone's endings.
