The desert book series is great and I wrote a comment on how it sounded a lot like Tamora Pierce's books, and now I realize that you wrote about them in your bio. I just face palmed. Plus I remember the line that was exactly like the one in The Wild magic series about how she stopped her heart and breathing in order to use her magic.

I'm almost done with Desert Thorn and I have two things I need to bring up:
          
          1) I swear Claud is going to have a Gretchen Weiner's moment soon and go all "I don't my father, the maejester (or what whatever his title is), would be too pleased with this." 
          
          2) I'm doubting that Dane was really as bored as led people to believe when he was benched *wink wink*
