"The world always seems brighter when you've just made something that wasn't there before."
-Neil Gaiman
Just a boy in the middle of his 20s who's got nothing much to say but can write a bit.
I mostly started by writing short stories for various contests on Wattpad, but now, whilst joining other future contests I wanted to focus more on my own stories. I want to show my heart out into the world, in form of poetic narratives and uncommon ideas. I hope I achieve that, and sometimes, I think I do as I wrote some of the works that I've posted here.
Speaking of which, here are some of my most notable writing achievements in the platform so far:
- The short story "Last September" won a spot in the top 10 winners of the September 2022 writing contest, for the Write-A-Thon contest series of the @AmbassadorsPH profile.
- "Bzzzt.", a short story I wrote for the Science Fiction Smackdown, is published in @Ooorah's Wattpad magazine called Tevun-Krus #100 as the 24th story in the collection. On the other hand, it is originally published as the 8th story in my short story collection "Oon: out of nowhere".
I hold these two achievements very dear to my heart, but one other achievement that might not be very great for some but is great to me otherwise is the achievement of writing something great, regardless of whether the piece wins an award or gets published. To be satisfied with the written expression you've poured your heart into, to be praised and recognized by readers for your work. To know that you've piqued their interest through and through. That you made them experience, rather than just anticipate. To know the gravity of the effect that your work had on them. These are the little things that I think is a great achievement for writers like me.
And sometimes, on rare occasions, my own works move me, too. That's a rare and special moment, even if it was in the form of a steak.
