smeyer doesn’t deserve anything for what she did to each character. pre transition jacob was perfect. edward was kinda iffy and over protective. the wolves got nothing. jasper was a confederate SOLDIER. and etc. there was so much potential- i love the series but smeyer sucks

i have not been on here for a minute but I’ve recently had a thought and it was twilight related so I thought I’d share.
          
          you can dislike jacob’s character and that’s completely justified but I think someone of y’all don’t realize that you hold him and even some of the wolves to a higher standard than their white counterparts. I feel like some have talked about this a lot but I’ve just noticed it recently. the cullens are untouchable to y’all and can be redeemed but the same grace isn’t extended to the wolves or even jacob. i’m in no way justifying his actions, it’s part of the reason why I’m no longer on his team like I used to be as a teenager. But y’all have to realize that by demonizing the only POC in the series, you’re taking a page out of smeyer’s book. because that’s literally what she wanted y’all to do. she wanted you to demonize the wolves and sympathize with the cullens. hold the characters accountable, you HAVE to, it’s so important, but definitely watch how you react and the things you say, because in doing one and not the other you send poc a message that we know all too well, and that’s that our white counterparts will never be held accountable in the same way as we are. they’ll always be forgiven. if we hated all the characters we wouldn’t be able to love it as much as we do or even enjoy it, so please don’t let this post run your fun or think i’m attacking. i’m merely just saying how I feel and what I have noticed within the fandom. 
          
          now that i’ve made this post maybe it’ll inspire me to update since it’s been a while. I LOVE Y’ALL ❤️

@okcacia ngl i used to think the same thing as a teenager, but after going back to the books and even the movies I know that not to be true. bella tells him many times that she’s not into him but he takes that as a challenge after he turns and not a definite answer. it was wrong of her to rekindle their friendship sort of based on a lie when she brought him the bikes, but blaming her for his actions isn’t okay either. i don’t think it’s wrong for her to have wanted just a good friend without the drama. as a friend jacob should have respected her boundaries, no matter what. plus, i know from experience that you sometimes don’t realize you’re leading someone on unless they say something. not to bring astrology too much into it but it’s a virgo thing. we think we can never be liked by anyone so we just never see it. i’ve come to really love her character and i’m honestly glad I did because she and I are a lot a like. my point is is that bella gave jacob an inch and he took a mile. again i mostly don’t blame him because smeyer writes him this way to demonize him and the natives by making them look like the bad guys to bella and even us the readers, but his actions are still his actions.
