"I did my best. That's the only thing I could do."

A few months ago, my friend told me that. He'd just turned in a one page essay, that was supposed to be five pages. He'd typed it up all nicely, has his headings, and his page numbers. He'd claimed that he'd spent two hours writing this one page essay, revealing this to the class as he handed it in to the teacher. When I looked at it, at first I laughed. This was an honors level class and he had only written one page! Something had to ge wrong. He must've been distracted or maybe just didn't care.

But then he said the quote above, and then I realized that the one page, was his best one page. Nothing in this world could top his single page essay about social equality. From that point on, I live by this motto, convincing myself that the only thing I can do is my best.

I can't change people, or how they feel. Sometimes I feel like I can't even change myself. But I'll do my best to try and make a change somewhere in the world.
