On my first library day in kindergarten, I shocked my mother by starting to read my book out loud on the drive home. Upon hearing me, she promptly stopped in the middle of the school parking lot and turned around with a stunned,
"You can read?"
My response was to slam the book shut and burst into tears as I wailed,
"NO!"
My grandmother knew I'd been reading since I was 3 (thank you, Leap Frog phonics desk) and assumed my mom knew as well. What she didn't know was, I thought if my mom knew I could read on my own, she wouldn't read to me anymore! The logic of 5 year olds is obviously quite sound.
Luckily, I am still a big reader! No promises on sound logic, but if you'd like a slightly insane, cat obsessed, not so grown up grown up to read your book, I'd be happy to! My favorite genre is fantasy/sci-fi, but I read just about any genre with joy.
If you need an editor/proof reader, I'd be happy to help out (:
Thank you to all of you lovely authors for putting your written souls out into the world! You truly make the world a brighter place.
