I was at jiu jitsu and I was doing push-ups because I lost a match. I don't have any upper body strength so I did two and stopped when a boy came up to me and said, and I quote "do you know what girl push ups are?" I then proceeded to tell him that was sexist and walk away.
I was born female so sadly I might have things like this happen to me for the rest of my life.... But it is wrong to imply that women are weaker and can't do real push ups. And at school my male FRIENDS were talking about how one of them was going to "take me" before the other one. I will assume he does not mean that sexually but still.
DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED on the Objectification of women!!! You know all those commercials and posters that are trying to sell you things with a half naked women next to the product.
If the product was any good you wouldn't have to use a half naked woman as a prop to sell it!!!!
I am lucky to have not be a victim of extreme sexism but still.
Sexism hurts us all. It's sad when boys are made fun of because they are too "girly" or because they're weak (being a girl).
And being a feminist does not mean I think all men should die! No it means that I think women are human and should be treated as so.
