A massive science fiction and fantasy fan, I also love reading the Classics.

My favourite authors include:
- Terry Pratchett RIP - is there any fictional universe better than the Discworld?
- Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials and the Sally Lockhart series
- Susan Cooper - The Dark is Rising series
- Colin Dann - The Animals of Farthing Wood
- Sylvia Waugh - The Mennyms
- Jean Ure - Plague series
- Cliff McNish - The Doomspell Trilogy
- Enid Blyton
- Anthony Trollope
- George Eliot
- Dostoevsky

As regards what I'm writing:
- A Contract with America is a contemporary, semi-philosophical novella that explores questions of choice and responsibility when one young woman unexpectedly gets the opportunity to start over in a new family and in a new country.
- The Girl who sensed Dinosaurs is a weird mesh of science fiction and fantasy with vampires, witches, dinosaurs, aliens and early humans. This is almost certainly going to end up as the middle part of a much bigger story and may only be one version of events for some of the characters in it so please bear with me as this one evolves.
- The last of her line is set in the fictional land of Glae, a bit like a medieval England but with magic, and is about the early life of a young wise woman whose destiny is shaped by powerful forces beyond her control. Again, although I know this world very well, the way Ethelflaed's story is told may well evolve.
- Guilt is very much on hold. Partly because some of the intended characters overlap with those in The Girl who sensed Dinosaurs and I need to get the timelines/alternate realities properly mapped out in my mind.

N.B. I apologise in advance for any typos/errors in my stuff. If you spot any, please let me know! (By the way, I write in British English)
