I should like the populous to know that I have renounced my atheism and am now a PROUD member of the church of the FSM. I feel in my heart that this is the right choice for me at this time in my life, and look forward to a day where the church of the FSM is represented and respected alongside other beliefs. Until then, let his noodly appendage guide and warm your hearts, at it has mine.

I don't agree that everything is a choice. Minds are biased, and subject to the conditions they are subjected to: stress, chemicals, emotions. And I don't think its a good way to judge people morally.

@pitchforksandtorches @Devin_Redstone that's not what I meant. Some things are uncontrollable. I meant that during those dark times it's your choice on how you DEAL with the situation.

I don't want to do anymore talking about what a hypothetical (because we both have different ideas about him) god Should be doing. It's complicated and does not have a definitive answer, I'd just like to say that I PERSONALLY THINK that someone with infinite power could do more to help people follow his plans.

@pitchforksandtorches My friend, look at how many religions there are. And regular Christianity has so many branches now too. Even cults have formed out of Christianity, here and in different countries. Don't forget Jim Jones. I could even make up my own god or religion, just as L Ron Hubbard did with the story of Xenu, and yes some Scientologists believe in Xenu, look it up, you'll have a very good laugh! Keep in mind that L Ron Hubbard was a Sci-Fi writer.

Every single person on Earth is practically worshiping a different God than everyone else. All that a religious person could say is, "Mine's right." Then it goes into a whole talk about a bunch of assumptions. It's good to debate peacefully sometimes, but one, don't expect someone to change their beliefs, two, don't let it take over your life, and three, if their beliefs are harmful or discriminative, be cautious and don't get so attached, one strike and they're out because a friend should never do something to hurt you. I agree with you though, sitting on your ass and watch kids die of starvation in Africa when you have the power to just grow at least an apple tree every now and then to keep them alive, is quite evil o.O. I feel you. My personal experience, every time I prayed there was only silence.

Here's some stupid design you might find quite entertaining lol. Neil deGrasse Tyson has become quite a big hero of mine now. His Big Think videos, I <3 https://youtu.be/oEl9kVl6KPc If a perfect creator makes a flawed creation, he is flawed. If a perfect creator makes a perfect creation, he is perfect. Otherwise, if he's perfect then we're just as perfect as him. Anyways! That's all I gotta say.

I Kinda want to lock both of you in a room and just see what happens. If I i thought you'd both make it out alive any way. :) I've always thought theological debates were interesting! Galaxy cat try going into detail how he makes you happy how how you came to know him, you know specifics, facts, details. and pitchforkesandtorches Why do you think that? how'd you reach that conclusion?

I don't believe god exists, that miracles happen, that Jesus died for anything other than leading a religious group that was threatening government control. I don't believe in heaven or hell. I think your mistaking your own strength for a magic power sorce (not unlike dumbo and his magic feather), and I believe you must be ignoring that god tests people unfairly, let's his followers die slow painful and terrifying deaths, and scares little children into thinking they need him to be happy.

But you know what? You are happy in your fantasy. And thats Ok with me. I hope it keeps you happy for the rest of your life.

GalaxyCat101

@pitchforksandtorches Yayyy you admit it!!! Life goal accomplishment! "SO GOD COULD EXIST" i'm so happy i got you to say it!!!!
You cannot not prove God's existence, but nor can you deny it. Perf :D

I just love that comparison though.

as for proving he doesn't exist? It is impossible to prove something doesn't exist until you know everything and obviously no one does. SO GOD COULD EXIST. BUT, that doesn't mean we should believe in him. Neither you nor I can prove that there isn't an invisible teapot in orbit of Jupiter but we assume there isn't one right? Same with atheism.

@pitchforksandtorches Okay okay so Einstien might not have been a Jew or have a God or whatnot, but from my previous general knowledge he was a Jew who followed Jewish customs- sorry.
