it gives you better context as to why the targaryen dynasty is no longer as powerful and feared as it once was during the HOTD era compared to their state in AKOTSK. but HOTD is also set around 80–90 years before the events of AKOTSK, so they are largely separate stories that don’t directly affect each other.

AKOTSK is based on novellas that focus primarily on dunk and egg’s journey, rather than the larger, multi-perspective narrative seen in the rest of the ASOIAF series. it’s a lot lighter compared to both HOTD and GOT as well because there isn’t that much politics involved.

I'm sorry, but it's 2026. Why are people still defending Ussop's design not being changed all these years later? He has clearly been confirmed to be black thanks to OPLA and by fucking Oda himself (I know he said "African," which is its own issue that I'm not qualified to get into). Yet, here comes this f*cking WIT remake with those bullsh*t teaser images? What the fuck??? It's just straight-up racist at this point to keep certain design aspects now that it's basically been confirmed that Ussop is supposed to be perceived as a black person, is it not??

@psxchopomp- yeah so supposedly ppl said he did some chatgpt chat thing to help him out with his arcs which to me didn’t make sense because how could someone actually get those ss of the chats? It’ll be dumb for him to actually post it somewhere so I think whatever Im talking abt is a hoax…

@K-KOSHII __ I didn't know there was a ChatGPT thing, but I was talking about them very recently, getting called out (again) for using gen AI for backgrounds in the opening of one of their animes (ascendance of a bookworm).

@psxchopomp- Tbh I really like the old one piece the new one is just as trunt but the old one has my heart because of the designs and my chopper wasn’t as annoying in the new one. He’s still my fav though!

Everyone is freaking out over Robby implying he doesn’t want to come back from his sabbatical and crying about it and I literally did a lap of joy like- YESS SIR DO NOT COME BACK. SYK. I DO NOT LIKE THE WAY YOU ARE TALKING TO THE WOMEN THIS SEASON!!!

psxchopomp-

Also with Supryia leaving (another woman of color leaving the show btw) I cannot stand the idea of having to solo Wyle without her there… Thank god Ellis is becoming a main next season though.

Just a reminder, there are better fantasy worlds than Harry Potter any there is no separating the art from the artist in this case as JK has admitted that she is using the most she makes from merch, movies, and book sales to support anti-trans propaganda and getting fans people (specifically women) banned from spaces. If you watch this new show or pla to watch it, kindly fuck off. And it’s ery mediocre art btw, truly we can do better as a society especially considering the writing is a proud TERF who’s mystified slavery and racism in her stories btw… Don’t watch the show. It’s really that easy. If you do, please, please, please unfollow me and take your ignorant transphobic ass elsewhere. <333

@kwiipti — I feel obligated to note that Hermione’s actress is also multiracial. That said, I do understand the concerns that many people have about Snape, who is initially presented as an antagonist (though most tuning into the show will be aware that he’s more of an anti-hero), being portrayed by a black person. However, most of the concern seems to be coming from the rhetoric that “black people portraying villains in media is always racist” which is a whole topic in itself that revolves around the “othering” of black people and not treating them like normal humans (or in this case actors). Something that much smarter and more articulate people have broken down for years. But, from what I’ve seen is that, if it’s just one guy who’s bad and also happens to be portrayed by a poc, it’s not inherently racist but if every bad guy, even the small ones, are poc while there are no positive portrayals of poc, then, yeah it’s racism. From what I know, the real big bad is still a white guy, Draco is still white as well, and Parvati has not been excluded. Most people tuning in to watch the show will most likely know what they’re getting into with Snape and his character, so, to suddenly hate him more or believe that people will hate him more just because he’s played by a black man is where it starts to become bigoted. For all we know, Paapa Essiedu could end up being the best, most book accurate Snape we’ve ever seen and he shouldn’t be limited from that role because he’s black.
