So, from my observations, there is no accurate information confirming if it is a glitch or not. From what I have observed, you will still see announcements from users you follow (with or without clicking that announcement button option). I was told to ask Support Team for accurate accuracy information. Since I am too lazy doing that myself and not an active ambassador too, you can ask them if you wish to. But, my friend above has had the same experience and agrees that there is no need for the button anymore.
