I can't find Willa Cather, or Paul's Case on Wattpad. Is it at the library or Chapters?

Oh!!!! Sorry!!! I should have explained. The story is not on Wattpad. It is a short story written years ago that you can find in a Google search online. You can also find someYouTube videos of the same title acted by amateur groups who in some cases depict the storyline quite closely as they reenact the plot details. I think the story is disturbing but well written by a quality author who might be found in some anthologies of short stories.

“It’s Too Late” is written with italics giving us insight into the words of a tragic suicide victim. Why didn’t his family listen? He gave them clues. Now they will have to live with that guilt. Bullying is awful & so hard to understand for those who don’t bully. Why would someone want to make someone else sad, miserable, troubled? It is so empty. But it is partially an act of intolerance of others as well as intolerance of self. Those who bully are unhappy or angry in some ways. Their striking out at others satisfies some need that is so difficult to understand. Ruby, though ficticious, you said your story is reality-based. I am sorry you lost someone apparently close to you when they took their own life. May I suggest a short story to you? It is by Willla Cather entitled “Paul’s Case.” It is so connected to your narrative poem.

@RobertLipman thank you for taking time to read stories/poems. You are really insightful. You explain things about my writing that I never thought about. I wrote the last part of the door hinge breaking away, connecting it to his life, but I didn't at the time know it was a metaphor lol. I'll be sure to check out Paul's Case and let you know what I think.

Ruby, “Crooked Doors” is about a key word that you referenced —- “intolerance.” Adam’s father is a very intolerant man. He is also a very angry man. He is also a very prejudiced man. A good definition of intolerance & prejudice is anger harbored within —- except when it explodes outwardly as it did with Adam’s father abusing rather than showing tolerance & love to his son. Adam’s father wanted to control his sexuality, just as there are those who want to control others’ religious persuasion. It’s all one & the same —- intolerance. How apt that you closed your story with the shaky hinges of the door finally giving way. This is a metaphor for the very likely future of the relationship between Adam & his father. h
