Wait, it's International Women's Day? Whoa, didn't realize.
But first! The Checklist!!
Am I still conscious about how I look?
Do I still need to sit like a 'lady'?
Do I still get 'looks' if I let down my hair and put on some make-up?
Do I still get doubted when I say I study Physics and solve problems on relativity?
Do I still get looked down upon when I say I can't knit?
Do I still think twice while planning to return home late at night?
But, really, does it matter? I know, I am a Capable Woman.
I care about strangers.
I care about my family.
I care about my friends.
I care about animals.
I don't unfollow people who follow me just to make me follow them back and then end up unfollowing me.
I try not to hurt people intentionally.
I aim to establish myself and become independent.
I plan to take care of people who can't take care of themselves.
Am I always right? Nah. After all, humans make mistakes.
But, do I try? Definitely.
But, I am privileged enough to have a roof over my head and money to afford Internet to write this post.
I am a lot more protected.
What about the rest, who won't even be able to read this post?
Happy International Women's Day to all those Women out there, especially from deprived backgrounds, who take care of their families, and travel endless kilometers just to earn their daily bread and butter, and end up facing the real, women-centric problems.
Shout out to all women, who have truly struggled to reach wherever they are, to ensure that they see their children, parents or siblings smile.
You all are the real women.
