In general, intellectual property refers to products protected by laws related to copyright, patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and trade secrets. As a result of the U.S. Constitution, intellectual property can be protected, albeit for a limited time, as "writings and discoveries" are protected in order to promote science and useful arts. In this article, we will discuss two of the most important categories: copyright and patent law. The owners of the Intellectual Property are provided the creator's protection for original works, products, development, and artistic creations of theirs.
