Years go by, but childhood memories linger. Growing up in the vastness of Africa allowed freedom to explore, but, also the realization of the stark realities of life.

A lion fells a beautiful gazelle. A riverbed dries up and fish battle in mud, waiting for the predator who is bound to come. A war breaks out and insecurity is magnified.

But, there is grace, next to an open fire as the sun sets and we start telling stories.

Writing bring these themes together, as I try to express and give word to what I have seen, what I experienced and how to live a life that no one else has or could have lived.

We are all unique, and some carry visible scars, but often it is the invisible scars that needs the most grace. Then, as if by magic, grace comes by the touch of a human hand.
