This is a collaborative effort by a few dedicated historical fiction writers who decided to break loose from the past and have some fun.
We had a crazy idea: what would happen if some of our characters were transported from their historical story worlds to modern day times? Say to a seedy donut shop in New Orleans. Would it be a bad thing?
Oh yes, it most definitely would.
Introducing the three 'History Misfits' who penned this tale:
@wizzobravo -- this genre-hopping writer 'Google unearthed' the location and set the story in motion. He tore a few uncouth pirates from their 17th century "Cutthroats of the Coast" world and dropped them into the shop to terrorize the two innocent young baristas on night duty.
@cursedmouth -- used a heart breaking story from India's fabled past and brought to life a royal couple from the 17th century, a pair who exemplify 'true love' like no other. Her gentle, sheltered heroine discovered her inner warrior when confronted with randy pirates and loot hungry Romans.
@cinilla -- shoved a couple of 76 BCE Romans from "All Roads Lead to Scandal.." into a cave--and into the clutches of a witch. But after a tasty bowl of bat and snake stew, and a few cups of dodgy wine, they were ready to crash the party in New Orleans and rescue a princess. Or two.
