johnny showing his support for #blm makes me so grateful. imagine being in like the most conservative entertainment group in the industry and trying to voice your opinions, opinions that might not even be widely accepted in the country you’re in. it must be kinda scary. i appreciate him so much. (and the other idols who have supported the movement) i’m just extremely appreciative of johnny bc he’s my ult.
-i also don’t think its right to force/harass idols into donating or speaking up. let’s not forget that they are controlled by their management, and they will cater to their national audience before their international audience. it’s not our place to tell idols what to say or how to spend their money. i hate to say it, but if you’re waiting for groups like bts to publicly show support, then don’t hold your breath. A lot of idols may support the movement but may not be allowed to talk about it. we hardly ever hear them talk about politics and social issues in the first place.
