Hi All! Sorry for the disappearance. I'm afraid Lyme has reared its ugly head once again and has sidelined me. But I'm back and also happy to announce that "Realm of the Malach" took a second place seat for the Runaway Awards!  Happy to be recognized.

- I am a wildlife ecologist by training. 
- Somewhere in the lowland forests of Papua New Guinea is a plant species named after me. 
- Parenting my five-year-old is the greatest experiment I've embarked on.
- I am also parent to two dogs, three cats, four to six feral cats, the occasional mangy fox and, I suspect, a very plump raccoon or two.
- I adore food and mix my own cocktails - they're meaner that way
- The biggest irony of my life is having never gotten sick while working in remote areas abound with all manner of disease-bearing lifeforms only to be taken down by a deer tick within months of moving back to the US.
