lae'zel had been growing impatient to reach the creche for purification ever since meeting her other companions , but now that she was here && amongst her kin , there was a change in the githyanki . however direct she was , it was a blessing to be amongst her kind again . she had only been away from k'liir for a few weeks now && her heart wouldn't dare beat without / home / inside of it . the sights , the sounds , her language . . . all of it was with aching familiarity followed by the harrowing realization that should they keep this tadpole within them , lae'zel would succumb to becoming ghaik . it is a fear that seeped in the marrow of her bones , that spilled with every life blood from battle .
still , with the rest of her party otherwise occupied with trading , lae'zel thought it best to keep herself vigilant && examine the space her kin called home . she had not expected company - especially not from the likes of a certain sharran cleric . it was an odd sort of thing , being close to home && yet so far from it .
❝ WHY DO YOU STARE , SHADOWHEART ? DO I STINK OF UNDEAD FROM OUR PREVIOUS BATTLE , OR DO YOU INTEND TO BE A HINDERANCE -- BARRING ME FROM PURIFICATION AGAIN ? ❞ lae'zel inquired , rather pointedly as displeasure colored her features . shadowheart was always a thorn in her side , even now , but she would admit her healing abilities have saved her once or twice . she's proving herself a rather competent figure .
